3) Easy to upgrade:- When it comes to upgradation desktop wins the competition because it has a variety of components as per the user’s budget.

4)  Repair:- It is easy to repair a desktop as compared to a Laptop because of its ease of structure. Even we can take help from the Internet to repair our desktop. on the opposite, Laptops have compact and very complex designs which make them hard to repair.

A laptop computer is a small, portable personal computer with a pre-installed hardware configuration that generally cannot be changed. It has all the input/output components and capabilities of a desktop computer including screen, speakers, keyboards, data storage devices, processors, the operating system in a single unit.
The laptop can be folded and transported easily by carrying it in a laptop bag or laptop case. The laptop doesn’t have a constant power supply like PCs so it comes with an inbuilt battery and an external charger. 
The laptop has the following pre-installed components:-
 
1)  Central Processing Unit:- CPUs are the brain of any computer and if we particularly talk about Laptop processors, then AMD and intel both designed a wide range of processors in past. Most Laptops nowadays have at least a four-core processor. But if we talk about performance then somewhere  Personal Desktop wins the game.
 
2) Graphical Processor Unit:- In most Laptops Graphical Processor Unit (GPU) is integrated with a Central Processing Unit (CPU)  to conserve energy and space. But as heavy usage of laptops increased with the growth of the Gaming Industry and 3D Graphics Industry with time, companies start providing individual  Graphical units in the Laptop for smooth Processes.
 
3) Memory:-   Since the 2000s  most laptops have used SO_DIMM RAM. RAM smoothens the computing Process and helps us to run multiple Virtual OS on a single Computer without any Lag. In 2021 Laptop with 8GB RAM is common and some  Low models have 4 GB RAM and some High models have 16 GB of RAM.
 
4) Battery:- Battery helps to run the electrical device and if we look back in the 1990s then many laptops have third-grade batteries. But Nowadays many Laptop brands promise to give battery backup of more than 16 hours. Apple MacBook Air  M1 chip has more than 12-hour awesome battery backup.
 
5) Cooling:- Waste Heat from laptops Leads to low performance and in some cases, it can even cause “toast skin syndrome”. So for cooling, Laptop provides heat exhaust at the bottom of the Laptop.

1) Portability: The main reason for which many people jump on this segment is because of portability, freedom to carry it anywhere which somewhere increase the productivity of students and employee. An employee can easily complete his work even when he is traveling by Train.

2) Size: A laptop has a small and compact size and design which somewhere makes it easy to carry without any burden.

3) No cables: Cables and wire somewhere drain the look and passion to work on a desktop. The laptop has zero cables and wire externally attached to it.
 
 

       Laptop vs Desktop Advantage and Disadvantage

 
Laptop and Desktop both are awesome at their usage and price. Many fields are there where we can’t use Laptops effectively such as 3D modeling, Crypto-mining, etc. But there are also many places where we can’t use Desktop such are Sahara Dessert, Amazon Forest, Antarctica. Because there is no electricity to run desktop and even they are bulky to carry. if you are a student or a content creator who travels a lot then you should definitely go for Laptop.

Desktop:-  A gamer should go for PC build because it gives you a wide range of options on components and it even doesn’t affect your pocket. A high-end PC can be built at the same price as a decent Laptop. PC can have one or more graphics cards in it which excel the performance.
 
Laptop:- A gaming Laptop cannot beat the performance of a Gaming PC and it even not satisfies the user's need at that high price. At the price of the best Gaming Laptop, you can easily build two gaming PCs.

Desktop:-  A Normal desktop can be built easily even with a low budget.
 
Laptop: A laptop is way more expensive than a desktop because there are not so many component options available for a Laptop and it even very hard to update components of a laptop as compared to a desktop.
 
Result:- Here Desktop wins because it is cost-friendly.
 

 
3)  Hardware Update

     Desktop: If in the future a user wants to enhance the power of an old desktop then he/she can easily do this by changing the component (RAM, storage) as per their need and budget.
 
Laptop:- In Laptop it is hard to change the components because it is fully packed and complicated for a user to replace the component.
 
Result:- Here Desktop beats the Laptop in this category.

 
4)  Portability

 
Desktop:- Desktop is hard to carry because it is bulky, heavy, and needs a constant energy supply to work.
 
Laptop:- the laptop can easily be folded and carried in a backpack because of its lightweight and small size.
 
Result:- Here Laptop beats the Desktop in this category.
 

5)  Battery and Power usage

     Desktop:- Desktop needs a continuous high power supply and more energy than Laptop. If the power fluctuates or goes out. It may loss of documents or files on which you were working.
 
Laptop:-  Laptop doesn’t need high power because it has a small component that consumes less power. It even has a battery inside it which restricts any of the power fluctuations.
 
Overall it depends upon you and your needs when you go for a Laptop or a PC build. If you are the person who wants the most bang for the buck and portability is not necessary then you can go for PC. But if you are a student, content creator, CEO, a travel enthusiast then you should go for Laptop.
