Facebook Developing Wristband to support Augmented Reality Glasses.

 

On Thursday Facebook , in a blog post announced that it is developing a wristband that would be able to control its Augmented Reality (AR) glasses which can be launched this Year.

The AR - supporting wearables devices will be capable of detecting nerve signals to interpret complex hand gestures and moves. User of band would be able to interact with the virtual world with their hand gestures. This technology will eventually replace the functionality of  mobile phones altogether.

Facebook told this earlier that smart glasses would need to depend on phones for forseeable future due to constraints like battery life and heating of processor. A wristband will serve as a platform for computing and supporting  functions.
